Noise Annoys – Planets of Sound

While not fitting completely into the category come to know as “noise”, the work of German rock band Can is influential to many bands who choose to explore the possibilities of sound and texture. The band’s interactions have  been referred to as “telepathic” by Pete Shelly of the Buzzcocks.  With connections to avant guard composer Stockhausen, Can explored where pop, rock and art collide in evocative shapes. Not always the easiest listen, especially their long form soundscapes, it is worth the effort to discover the many delights Can created. The band may not be known by the mainstream but, they are architects of Indie. Future Days indeed.
